Age Groups
3-Year Old Preschool Class
The three-year-old classroom is all about learning through play and exploration. The children will do a lot of sensory learning which stimulates their sense of touch, smell, taste, sight, and hearing. They will learn to develop the important social skills necessary to be able to share and play nicely with others. They will also learn to recognize and express their feelings with words and gain a positive self-esteem. Physically, they will strengthen their gross motor skills through running, jumping, and climbing, and their fine motor skills by grasping objects, learning to write, and using scissors. We also teach the children about God, pray, and learn simple monthly bible stories. They will begin to learn the alphabet, numbers 1-10, colors, basic shapes, etc. This class is a fun introduction to the Pre-K Class.
Pre-K Class
Our Pre-K class is a combination of learning through play, age appropriate worksheets, and teacher directed activities. In this class we focus on learning the alphabet and their sounds, number recognition, and one-to-one correspondence (counting objects one by one). Other things they will learn include primary and secondary colors, basic shapes, and the proper social skills they need to play with others. They will also learn the letters that make up their first name and learn to write it. The children will also learn a simple Bible story every month. We strive to equip each child with the skills they need for their upcoming year in kindergarten.
